Collection: SHOGADO
Shogado was established in Kyoto in 1964 as a wholesaler of shikishi (large square cards for writing messages on), tanzaku (colored paper strips for writing poems on), and wahon (Japanese books). Since then, it has developed a wide range of Japanese-style stationery and accessories utilizing the manufacturing techniques of specialist calligraphy stores, art supply stores, and in Japanese books from around the country, and has expanded its sales channels in Japan and overseas. The Japanese-style washi paper that is Shogado’s key material is supplied from major washi production areas such as Echizen (Fukui Prefecture), with manufacturing by craftsmen and partner factories which have worked with Shogado ever since it was founded. All of Shogado’s products are made in Japan, most of them in Kyoto.
